Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell says it is time to "step back and start over" on health care reform.
McConnell is holding a closed town hall meeting at Children's Mercy Hospital, along with Sen. John McCain and Sen. Kit Bond, all Republicans.
The trio met with hospital staff and got a look at the hospital's new helicopter.
McConnell also criticized plans to pay for health reform by cutting Medicare and Medicaid. Many of the patients at the hospital use Medicaid services.
McConnell urged a more "incremental" approach.
McCain sharply criticized spending for health care reform, insisting the nation's spending and debt are not sustainable.

Sure Sen. McConnell wants to
Sure Sen. McConnell wants to start over on health care. The current versions won't protect the mega profits of the insurance industry that is bankrolling his re-election campaigns and those of his friends.
Isn't is amazing that they can have a "closed door town hall" and think they are getting a "fair and balanced" set of opinions? Oops, I forgot, "fair and balanced" means only the right gets to express an opinion. And the Repub's idea of bi-partisanship is 'do it our way or else we'll whine about it to Rush Limbaugh.'
