Michelle Obama's father, Fraser Robinson III, is buried at Burr Oak Cemetery, the Alsip facility involved in a grave desecration scandal, a White House spokeswoman confirmed. There was no indication whether Robinson's grave was among those disturbed. Camille Johnston, the first lady's communications director, disclosed that Robinson was buried there but declined to comment further.
Fraser Robinson III was a pump operator for the water department in Chicago and a Democratic party precinct captain who battled multiple sclerosis. He died in 1991 from complications from multiple sclerosis.
Michelle Obama's mother, Marian Robinson, moved from the South Side to the White House when her son-in-law, Barack Obama, was inaugurated in January.
