Yet another aide to Sen. Claire McCaskill is leaving for the brights lights of the Obama administration.

The White House announced that President Obama will nominate Peggy Gustafson, McCaskill’s general counsel and advisor on government oversight, as inspector general for the Small Business administration.

She has been with McCaskill since the Missouri Democrat’s days as Jackson County prosecutor. Gustafson was an assistant prosecutor. She also served as McCaskill’s general counsel when she was Missouri state auditor.

Gustafson is the third senior aide from McCaskill’s Senate office to join the adminstration.

Former Chief of Staff Sean Kennedy is now a White House congressional lobbyist, and former Legislative Director Chani Wiggins is assistant secretary for legislative affairs at the Department of Homeland Security.
