Palin backers try to derail Sebelius

if Palin alienates U.S. Senators like she does voters. Guess we'll find out.

I do not appreciate Mr. Goldstein's loaded headline. Nor do I appreciate his failure to cite WHY these activists, among many others, oppose Sebelius's appointment to DHS.

Sebelius's stance on late-term abortion is FAR outside the American mainstream, regardless of party affiliation. Which is why she lied to the IRS to minimize the contributions and political backing she received from late-term abortion doctor George Tiller.

Her position is dictated by ideology, rather than by sound science or even by the Hippocratic Oath -- "First, do no harm."

America deserves better in its head of Health and Human Services.

Mike, as a proud member of Team Sarah, I can tell you this isn't just about abortion, or even Sarah Palin.

Even though Team Sarah as well as hundreds of other pro-Sarah Palin groups, and their millions of members are generally against the murder of innocent babies, supporting a vile death cultist like Tiller is actually just a small reason why Governor Sebelius should not be confirmed.

Governor Sebelius lied under oath to Congress and way understated her donations from Tiller, and she is but another tax cheat.

She simply doesn't deserve the job.

Actually I see nothing in her tax issue w/r/t to Tiller. If you look at her tax issues they were three fold:
1) Missing 3 charitable deduction receipts
2) taking a mortgage interest deduction wrongly
3) penalties / interest

How do those have anything to do with Tiller?

It is my understanding she failed to disclose some $13k in contributions from Tillers pac; and then denied receiving it to a direct queston from a committee member.

I hadn't seen either of those. I seemed to recall her confirmation hearings to not even touch her tax situation (the stuff around i remember mostly being grassley and dole talking about the 7k and saying they were honest mistakes so push her through).

And as for Tiller, he is involved in a LEGAL practice and has yet to be found guilty of breaking any laws. As governor, Sebelius is expected to uphold the laws of the state. Which she has done. Her stance on abortion, which she has repeatedly made clear, is not a result of her ideology. As a Catholic, she opposes abortion. But as governor, she respects the legalities.

She will make an outstanding cabinet member because she is able to keep her personal ideology separate from the laws of the state.

She'll be with others that say one thing and do another!
