Kansas could have a new governor in early April.
Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa said Wednesday that the Senate could confirm Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, who is President Barack Obama’s choice to be health and human services secretary, by April 3.
Grassley told Congressional Quarterly that the Finance Committee, of which he is a member, could approve Sebelius with a floor vote by the full Senate before the April recess.
“It’s possible she could be done before we go home for the next recess,” Grassley said.
