Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver has been given a seat on the House Homeland Security Committee.
The Kansas City Democrat needed a waiver to take the seat because he also sits on the Financial Services Committee.
Those two panels, along with the Appropriations, Ways and Means, and Energy and Commerce committees, are what used to be known as "Super A" committees. Normally, members can only serve on one.
