Is this th
Amanda Adkinse face of the new chairwoman of the Kansas Republican Party?
Insiders say it's pretty likely.
Her name is Amanda Adkins. And so far, she's the only candidate to replace Kris Kobach, who said recently he won't seek a second, two-year term.
Adkins, 34, isn't well-known in state government circles. But she's got impressive credentials:
- She oversees day-to-day operations for Cerner's health care management and personal health records section.
- She managed Sen. Sam Brownback’s 2004 re-election campaign. Brownback, of course, is lining up a run for governor in 2010.
- She sits on the board of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
- She founded a group called the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series that trains women interested in politics.
- She's a veteran of Capitol Hill in Washington.
And right now, she's the only candidate for the job. The election for state chair takes places in late January at the GOP's annual Kansas Day event.

Oh, Lord
not another of Switchback's ringers.
