Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill said she has no interest in chairing the Democratic National Committee and has no idea where the rumor started.
"It’s a very good question," she said.
Referring to President-elect Barack Obama, McCaskill said, "Barack and I have never had a conversation about this."
A close Obama ally, McCaskill said that someone might have suggested her as a possible replacement for DNC chief Howard Dean to a political blogger, who then posted it as rumor without any verification. Suddenly it had a life of it’s own.
"This is the world we live in," she said. "It’s very bizarre."
