The story is they'd "split" the DNC chair duties. McCaskill or Sebelius would serve as the public face of the party and an Obama campaign staffer would run the day-to-day stuff.
Saw it in a Huffington Post story, I can find it up if you need a link.
P.S. I think Claire would be an excellent choice.
Wow. We finally would get our first female head of the DNC...and she'd just be window-dressing. That's progress.

With this arrangement, McCaskill could keep her Senate seat. I'm going to say that's a very good thing.
I'm guessing the same is true for Sebelius.
It's not a backhanded slap at either woman, more a reflection that they have important day jobs already.
He has done such an outstanding job.
Sebelius was a strategic pro at divisiveness. DNC Chair is a perfect fit for the ..., er I mean, ...a perfect fit for her.
Once again you prove to be as dumb as a box of rocks.
My concerns with either McCaskill or Sebelieus is that she isn't the right person for the job. But I am adamantly opposed to giving either one half the job.
Sebelius doesn't have that much time left as Governor, and now that Nixon is gov McCaskill would get a decent replacement if she were to leave. Neither scenario would be a disaster.
But I really don't want the first female head of the DNC, if that is going to be the case, to just be a figurehead. That doesn't advance women in politics. If the right person for the job is an unknown, then so be it. If McCaskill or Sebelius is the right person, then give her the whole job so she can demonstrate competence and really be a leader.
But for God's sake, please don't give Donna Brazile any more job duties. I can barely stand to hear her speak on CNN...
Bow to us Jeetz. Bow now -- for we demand obedience! (smile)
All the talk of how the GOP is going to re-establish itself, and the Dems are going to do it for us.
This sounds great.
Are you saying it takes 2 women to do 1 man's job?
I suppose it is of some interest to the Whackdom who Jomama appoints as the head of the moonbats......
I am preparing for the next four years of Jimma Carter again.
Get braced America!
Why?
I understand rewarding loyalty, but come on. Are either of these two politicans particularly good at fundraising? Was either one part of Obama's strategic team? Wouldn't it make more sense to nominate Plouffe or someone who was instrumental to the campaign's success, instead of rewarding an early cheerleader? Cronyism got us where we are today...
