When Keating's S&L went belly up because of Keating's actions (he did go to jail), we taxpayers had to come up with over $3 billion.

John McCain's real inner circle: people who have a stake in preventing regulation and think we are a bunch of whiners.

Uh, yeah. We were/are. Listening to woe-is-us tripe from the lamestream media about how the economy was going down hill led to decreased confidence in the system which then injured it enough that we're in the situation we are now.

Mind you we were going to get into this situation no matter what, and I'm kind of glad it happened sooner rather than later. Unfortunately the bailout bill has only patched up the bleeding and now we aren't going to be able to fix a problem started by Carter, exacerbated by Clinton and helped along by BO.

But yeah, people who let themselves believe we were in a recession started this and then the whiners who thought they deserved a house even though their credit sucked opened the floodgates. Get a thicker skin and deal with it.
